Micro Machines Trains
Though short-lived as a theme, the Micro Machines trains were popular and brought in yet more collectors. Somewhat similar to N gauge used for professional model train brands, Galoob crossed the boundary between model railroading and toys fairly well. The 1990 trains are far more difficult to collect compared to the 1989 releases which is likely due to the more limited regional release.

1989
Eight different train collections were released in 1989 and each included track to build a simple oval. German and French examples are shown. Prototypes of two different train collections are included below as comparison to production pieces (prototype on the left, production on the right). Individual loose production trains are also included for reference.

1990
The 1990 trains were regionally released creating a rarity for collectors. While sealed examples of three collections are known, only individual pieces of two other trains are known from the series. (Loose pictures will be uploaded shortly.). The Power Sound Trains had a wider range of selling locations, so they can be easier to locate, yet still command a high level of interest. Several playsets were released in 1990 as well specific for the train series. Some are very rare such as Train Central City and the Train Track pack. Loose production trains are pictures below as well as four prototype trains. For the Power Sound Train Steam Train, the prototype is on the left and the production piece is on the right. The Jupiter, SRR, and orange playset freight train were not released.

1996
A re-release of the Transcontinental Freight train from 1989 is found in the Ages and Stages playset release from 1996. This collection can be difficult to find sealed, but due to the re-use of a fairly common train and other mainline vehicles, collector interest is less.
